Duke Storms Back to Stun #3 Wake Forest in Overtime

#5 Duke spent three quarters chasing Wake Forest and one furious fourth quarter erasing everything that came before it. Down 2-0 after goals from Bianca Rees-Gibbs and Ava Moore, the Blue Devils finally broke through when Shae Wozniak cut the deficit in half. Lily Soldan equalized less than six minutes later, sending a game Wake had controlled into overtime.

Duke kept coming once it got there. The Blue Devils generated five shots and three penalty corners in the extra period before Juliette Schulten finished the comeback for a 3-2 victory, with Madison Beach and Maggie Kondrath assisting the winner. Wake finished with a 19-16 edge in shots, but Duke put eight on goal to the Demon Deacons’ six, while Kaiya Chepow made four saves. Duke improves to 6-2 and 2-0 in the ACC.
