Toluca struck first through Eugénie Le Sommer, but the lead only seemed to wake up Tigres. Maricarmen Reyes equalized before Thembi Kgatlana, María Sánchez and Kgatlana again turned a 1-0 deficit into a 4-1 halftime lead. Toluca lost Karla Martínez to a red card before the break, and Tigres kept pouring it on after it. Kgatlana completed a four-goal night, Mariza Nascimento scored her first for the club and Tigres walked out of the Nemesio Díez with a 7-2 victory. The response to the previous round’s loss to América could hardly have been louder, with Tigres moving level with Group A leader Monterrey on 21 points.
FC Juárez kept itself in that chase with a 2-0 win at León behind two goals from Aisha Solórzano, taking the Bravas to 18 points. Santos Laguna produced another notable result by beating Cruz Azul 2-0 for its fourth victory of the Apertura, while Atlante finally stopped a six-match losing streak with a 2-1 victory over Querétaro. Andrea González and Conni Herrera gave Atlante a two-goal cushion before Niomi Grimaldo pulled one back deep into stoppage time.
