Miles Makes Rookie History as Minnesota Gets Back on Track

Minnesota needed a response after three straight losses, and Olivia Miles gave the Lynx one with a little history attached. Miles scored 21 points to finish the day with 790 for the season, breaking Caitlin Clark’s WNBA rookie scoring record of 769, while Napheesa Collier added 23 in a 101-89 win at Connecticut. Minnesota raced ahead 27-12 after one quarter and led by as many as 20 before the Sun cut the margin to seven. The Lynx never let it get any closer, moving within one win or a Golden State loss of securing the #1 seed and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs.

Washington made one of the day’s biggest moves in the playoff race with a 93-77 win at Indiana. Kiki Iriafen had 21 points and 14 rebounds as the Mystics overwhelmed the Fever 34-19 in the opening quarter and carried an 18-point advantage into halftime. Indiana made its push with 31 points in the third, but the hole was too deep. Washington took the season series 2-1, giving the Mystics the tiebreaker while pulling within a game of fifth-place Indiana.
