Nebraska Closes Nonconference Play Unbeaten as Kentucky Rallies at Vanderbilt

#1 Nebraska finally got its match with Missouri, and the 17-day wait did nothing to slow the Huskers down. After the original meeting at Wrigley Field was called off because of unsafe court conditions, Nebraska overwhelmed the Tigers 25-10, 25-17, 25-14 to finish nonconference play 11-0. The Huskers hit .380 while holding Missouri to a season-low .020, with Andi Jackson putting down 10 kills without an error on 15 swings and adding six blocks. Nebraska never trailed after Missouri briefly went ahead 5-3 in the third, closing the night with a 6-0 run in front of 10,497 in Lincoln.

#3 Kentucky had a much bumpier beginning to SEC play. Vanderbilt grabbed the opening set 25-21 before the Wildcats recovered to win the next three, 25-17, 25-19, 25-21, escaping Nashville with a 3-1 victory. #8 Florida had no such trouble in its nonconference finale, sweeping Jacksonville 25-18, 25-21, 25-13.
