Leylah Fernandez saved a set point and won the final nine games to turn a tight Singapore Tennis Open final into a 7-5, 6-0 victory over Talia Gibson on Sunday. The #6 seed finished in 1 hour, 38 minutes to claim her first title of 2026, the sixth WTA singles title of her career and her second at WTA 500 level.

Facing that set point, she said, she told herself to "just think of the ball and let my instincts take over." She opened the second set with a break and never faced a break point in it, while Gibson lost all three of her service games.
