Baszler Chokes Out Hudson as Apex Wins Six-Woman Tag

Shayna Baszler ended Thursday's six-woman tag on TNA iMPACT the way she ends most arguments, with a choke. Baszler, Zoey Serrano and Xia Brookside beat Indi Hartwell, Gabby Forza and Harley Hudson in Dothan, Alabama, when Baszler locked Hudson in the Choke Ten Choke moments after Serrano's superkick had sent Hudson straight into her for the Kill Shot.

The match put both halves of the Knockouts title picture in the same ring. Serrano and Baszler, together known as Apex, hold the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship, and Hartwell is the Knockouts World Champion. Nothing was on the line on Thursday, but the champions' side went home with the win and the momentum.

It was not one-way traffic. Hartwell and Brookside started the match, and Apex spent the early stretch working over Hartwell's arm, with Baszler and Brookside taking turns. Forza turned the match with a burst of power, hitting a double German suplex on Baszler and Serrano and following it with a half-and-half suplex on Serrano. Serrano answered by diving onto Hartwell and Forza on the outside, and Apex took control from there. After the bell, Brookside had to hold Hartwell back.

M by Elegance Escapes Elayna Black as Bound For Glory Field Takes Shape

M by Elegance retained the TNA Knockouts Television Championship by the narrowest possible margin Thursday, reaching the 10-minute time limit while Elayna Black had her covered on the final episode of Impact before Bound For Glory.

With the rest of The Elegance Brand banned from ringside in San Antonio, the champion tried to turn the match into a punishing fight around the ring and the steel steps. Black slipped away from a stomp aimed at her hand, but M answered with a suplex off the steps that sent the challenger crashing to the floor. Back inside, M kept the pressure on with a pump kick and a Michinoku Driver and went looking for a Northern Lights bridge.

Black’s late rally included a single-leg dropkick, a stomp and a superkick. She avoided M’s moonsault attempt and moments later hit Black Out and made the cover, but the clock expired at two. The draw left M with the championship and Black with proof that she had the champion beaten if only for a few more seconds.

Hartwell Wins by Disqualification Before Brookside Leaves Her Down

Indi Hartwell defeated Zoey Serrano by disqualification on Thursday’s TNA iMPACT in San Antonio, but the result was quickly overshadowed by a post-match assault that ended with TNA Knockouts World Champion Xia Brookside standing over her Bound for Glory challenger.

Serrano jumped Hartwell before the bell, and the two brawled at ringside before the match officially began. Once the referee started it, Serrano controlled long stretches with suplexes and strikes, while Brookside watched from the commentary desk. Hartwell rallied with a spinebuster and a clothesline, only for Serrano to drive her into the ring post and the steel steps.

Serrano then brought a steel chair into the ring and drove it into Hartwell’s back, and the referee called for the disqualification. The attack did not stop with the bell. Serrano kept swinging the chair until security flooded the ring and removed her.

Brookside saw her opening. The champion entered the ring with the Knockouts World Championship and slammed the title into Hartwell’s face, then stood over her fallen challenger. TNA’s injury report later said Hartwell suffered severe injuries in the match and is being evaluated.

Hartwell-Brookside Bound for Glory as Black Earns Her Shot at M by Elegance

Indi Hartwell finally found a way around Daria Rae, and she did it by letting Rae beat herself. Hartwell confronted the TNA authority figure backstage, called her a joke and asked whether she was too afraid to fight, until Rae slapped her across the face. Hartwell immediately revealed the trap: Santino Marella had recorded the confrontation and was sending the footage to the TNA Board of Directors. Later, Marella informed Hartwell that Rae had been suspended indefinitely and, with the obstacle to Hartwell’s title challenge removed, made Xia Brookside vs. Hartwell official for the TNA Knockouts World Championship at Bound for Glory on Oct. 11. Brookside arrived furious at the decision, but it was already done.

Rae’s suspension cost her the authority to stop the match, but not her involvement. Zoey Serrano later spoke with her by phone and vowed to keep Hartwell from reaching Bound for Glory, putting one more obstacle between the new challenger and Brookside.

The night’s featured Knockouts match belonged to Elayna Black, who beat Jada Stone, Harley Hudson and Gabby Forza in a four-way for the #1 contendership to M by Elegance’s TNA Knockouts Television Championship. The match repeatedly splintered into one-on-one exchanges as bodies spilled outside, with Forza’s power creating some of the biggest moments and Stone finding an opening late. Stone sent Forza out of the ring, only for Black to strike at exactly the right moment, catching Stone with Black Out and pinning her to take the title shot. M by Elegance and the Elegance Brand watched from a distance before Black and the champion locked eyes afterward. Black’s combination of size and athleticism should make that an intriguing matchup whenever it arrives.
